7 aside Thriller

A rare 7 aside game at the theatre of comebacks saw yet another team come from behind to win as 14 players gave us a cracking encounter on a warm Thursday night.

With Nyle & Luis both getting late call ups they joined bibs who were 300 caps short of the experienced Skins line up.

It was Bibs who made an excellent start, knocking the ball about like under instruction from Pep Guardiola. The biggest surprise was that their early dominance wasn't rewarded with a goal. In fact after such a strong start it was Nyle who picked the ball out of the net first when Prosser on a decent run of scoring opened the evenings account. The goal came when Curry came on to the pitch and the increased energy and pressing meant the early spell of dominance, quickly subsided and the match became a much more even encounter.

Brenchley hit the post then Chaz & Wilson returned fire as their efforts also hit the woodwork.

It took a moment of magic from Wilson to find young Luis with a sublime first time ball straight to the Colombian stars feet. He finished calmly to level the score at 1-1.

Fellow new comer Nyle then made it 2 in 2 in his early F&O career as Bibs turned the scoreline around to lead 2-1 at the interval.

As well as the post being busy we were hit with a fair few injuries, notably the Hat going off for a short spell and Nyle having to keep goal at certain times. Brench with a thunderous challenge on the Hat, hurt himself in the process and was struggling to breathe directly afterwards.

Chaz spurned two glorious chances when well placed and the goal at his mercy. Hunt too hit the bar after Eason had played him in. At the other end Brenchley hit a post for Skins.

It was the midfield all energy duo of White & Curry who won it for Skins. They combined for Curry to level then from a corner White's second attempt went in for 3-2. The game was up when White squared for Curry to tap into an empty net.

Late in the game Nyle roared out from his goal to make it 4-3 and set up a grandstand finish, but despite plenty of Bibs pressure the Skins back line was resolute and Bahrami made some decent saves in the last 11 to preserve their lead.

MOTM - Neil White - An all action display for Whitey tonight holding off Curry & Prosser for the MOTM vote.
